To the moon Alice!

Hi,

Remember how Ralph Kramden always was saying he was going to send Alice, his Wife, to the moon when we were classmates (ok, it was in reruns but you watched, right)? Well how would you like to send your whole family into space? Well not physically but their names?

As part of the Kepler Mission to Search for Habitable Planets a Name In Space program has been created. You may submit a name or names on either:

namesinspace.seti.org or kepler.nasa.gov

Names submitted by November 1, 2008 will be stored on a DVD and rocketed into space on board the Kepler spacecraft. When you submit a name, you will receive a certificate via email. You can also create certificates for family and friends to serve as gifts.

Hey, maybe we can be the first OLPH class "lost in space" (sorry, yet another flash back to our youth)?

Thanks for sharing this. I plan to send my whole family to the "moon" (and maybe I might go too). This will be the closest I will ever get to being in space (where I would probably get lost), but my daughter still talks about joining NASA (and who knows, if she really sticks with an engineering major in college maybe she can).

Hi Russ:
My husband and I have really enjoyed exploring these sites. I have found the information so interesting, that some of my free time is now being spent exploring where these sites take me. Just the mention of Kepler and my husband lit up and shared a wealth of information with me. I have passed this along to many friends and family. I hope they will join us on the mission to the Moon.
Thanks Russ,
Darlene
